Meet Natalie

Professional Background

Natalie Gavi, MS, RDN is a registered dietitian specializing in eating disorders, sports nutrition, and brain health. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her supervised practice and Master’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition at Oregon Health & Science University.

Natalie has extensive experience in various clinical settings. She began her clinical career working at as an inpatient dietitian in multiple hospitals including Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where she provided nutrition support for critically ill patients. She then transitioned to working as an outpatient dietitian at UCLA where she worked in multiple clinics including:

  • BrainSPORT, where she delivered individualized nutrition counseling for athletes recovering from sports-related concussions

  • Operation Mend, where she led cooking and nutrition education classes for post-9/11 veterans who sustained traumatic brain injuries while deployed

  • The Migraine and pediatric Dysautonomia clinics, where she provided medical nutrition therapy for the management of migraines, POTS, and co-occurring conditions

It was through her work with concussion patients that Natalie began to notice a pattern - many of her patients were also quietly struggling with disordered eating and eating disorders. That observation led her to seek additional training in the eating disorder field, which eventually led her to work in an outpatient eating disorder clinic. There, she's helped clients heal their relationships with food & their bodies and achieve lasting recovery.

Throughout each of these settings, Natalie has also worked with athletes across all levels and sports - from recreational to student & professional athletes. She's helped them use nutrition as a tool to optimize athletic and cognitive performance, promote injury recovery, and create sustainable, guilt-free relationships with food and their bodies. Her approach is anti-diet, weight-inclusive, and grounded in the most current nutrition science tailored to meet clients where they are.

When she's not with clients, you'll find her at the barn with her ex-racehorse Stella, out on the trails with her mini dachshunds Luna and Nina, or curled up with a good book and her Siamese cat, Erice.
